ABOUT THE HOSTS

Evelin (she/her)

Evelin is a formerly undocumented oldest daughter of immigrants who is committed to forming radical relationships, and finding spaces for healing. She currently works at a nonprofit in Eugene, OR and has been in the Anti-violence movement for 8 years. Evelin grew up in Salt Lake City, UT but was born in Guanajuato, Mexico. She is in her final year of her Master’s program in Social Work at Portland State University. Evelin enjoys spending time outside, especially on the PNW coast and visiting family in Utah.  

Yajanetsy Ruano, M.Ed (she/they)

Yajanetsy is a queer, formerly undocumented, Latinx, student affairs practitioner, book nerd, who thinks books as her children, is doing her best at loving herself and having more hope in this society, she has two doggies and gatos, and currently lives in Colorado! 

Maria Jose (she/her)

MJ is a queer, fat, oldest daughter of immigrants who is committed to radically loving herself and those around her. She currently works with first gen/POC students in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Occidental College. She is still trying to find her place in the revolution but hopes one day her work inspires others.
